Poutine dog

I believe around 2008 the fabulous poutine went from a transformation of la beau repas du Québec (The beautiful Quebec meal/dish) to something that's currently being played around with by poutineries in Ontario and elsewhere. We see poutine shops popping up all over this country, and people are now realizing it's a faux pas to put shredded cheese on poutine - FINALLY.

The folks at Toronto Star discovered something even weirder - a poutine hot dot (and no, not a hot dog poutine, with slices of hot dog on top of a poutine). This time, the poutine goes ON the hot dog. It's a combination of hickory sticks, gravy and curds on top of a freshly grilled foot-long hot dog.

Frankly, it disgusts me YET intrigues me at the same time. I personally wouldn't want to try one as I believe I'm a poutine purist, but judging by the review, it might not be that bad.

Check it out for yourself, it's available in Toronto at Real Sports Bar & Grill.
